THE BUILDER SERIES
A WORKSHOP SERIES based on stories from NYC entrepreneurs
Attracting customers, paying expensive fines, rising operating costs, high rental rates and navigating the city’s complicated regulatory system are just some of the real challenges that NYC business owners have to face every single day. Providing training on NYC specific business topics is necessary to prepare business owners to build great businesses and to avoid common pitfalls, however, much of the current business education in the market is based on theory and it falls behind in keeping up with current trends. NYC entrepreneurs and business owners need training programs that are current and that tell the real stories of how real NYC business owners and experts have been able to build successful businesses.
Progress Playbook designed a series of business workshops called the Builder Series, which were created based on interviews conducted with real NYC entrepreneurs and experts at various stages in order to provide different perspectives on how to start and build a business in NYC. We believe that there is not a one size fits all approach to building a great business in NYC, therefore, a study of different approaches and strategies are necessary in order to help entrepreneurs design their own unique journeys. The Builder Series workshops have been facilitated at various organizations throughout NYC, including, Pace University, Queens Library, St Francis College, Harlem Community Development Corporation, Business Improvement Districts (BID), the Impact Hub and many others.
Taught at 100 places and over 1,000 people
